Thornton visits victory lane in Micro at Southern Illinois Center

With the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series doubleheader at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) falling to Mother Nature, Ricky Thornton Jr. trekked to Southern Illinois Center (Duquoin, Ill.) on Friday evening to compete in three divisions for the Midwest Winter Nationals.

Despite running into mechanical issues in two divisions, Thornton recorded a fourth-place finish in the A Class Non Winged Micro feature.

Pulling triple duty again on Saturday, Ricky recorded a trio of top-five finishes. On top of a fourth and second-place finish, Thornton raced to victory lane in the A Class Winged Micro feature.
